Using A Nation Conceived in Liberty for EOC Review

A Nation Conceived in Liberty is a powerful learning tool that can enable your students to excel on the Georgia Milestones EOC Assessment. Its primary strengths are its close alignment to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and its many research-based learning strategies. Special emphasis is placed on twentieth-century history, which comprises half of the test. With each chapter, students are able to frame their knowledge with a series of introductory standards-based questions. Then they can examine a concise preview of the chapter in the Georgia “Peaches” of Wisdom. Next, they can read more detailed explanations in the chapter text and apply their knowledge and interpret primary sources in The Historian’s Apprentice activities. Finally, they can review the chapter with the concept map and practice questions found at the end of the chapter. A Georgia Milestones Checklist helps your students determine if they have covered all of the information from the standards that might appear on the EOC test. All of these different learning features can be mixed and matched in an endless variety of combinations for effective EOC review.
